TECHNICAL DATA

At PWPLTD, we invite your calls or visits to help in the interpretation of technical data information.  It may not be as straightforward as it seems.  An example of that is heat gain value.  A vinyl window should not get hotter than 160º Fahrenheit, or it will warp.   If you were to use a dark color paint not designed for vinyl windows, it could easily get as hot as 180-200º Fahrenheit on a summer day.  The heat gain numbers provided by the paint manufacturers will tell you how much heat from the sun will be absorbed or reflected, but be cautious, if the numbers given do not specify the horizontal surface heat gain, then you are getting smoke and mirrors!  Heat dissipates on a vertical surface much faster than on a horizontal surface and the difference may be crucial.  Something else to be wary of is when a warranty says "resists fading", this could be interpreted as, "the paint will fade but it doesn't really want to".

A clearly written guarantee should give you the AAMA test results.  Prolux paint will not fade more than DE = 4 over 10 years, which is hardly noticeable.  Since Praiseworthy Painting Ltd. is not affiliated with any other company, we are at liberty to research and select the very best products for our customers.  Our ongoing research and testing has proven Prolux Paints to supply the best product available.  They also have great service, and a straightforward guarantee.  We invite you to contact us with any questions you may have, or to come and see their excellent product yourself.
