TECHNICAL DATA | |||
|
At PWPLTD, we invite your
calls or visits to help in the interpretation of technical data information.
It may not be as straightforward as it seems.
An example of that is heat gain value.
A vinyl window should not get hotter than
160º Fahrenheit, or it will warp. If
you were to use a dark color paint not designed for vinyl windows, it could
easily get as hot as 180-200º Fahrenheit on a summer day.
The heat gain numbers provided by the paint manufacturers will tell
you how much heat from the sun will be absorbed or reflected, but be
cautious, if the numbers given do not specify the horizontal surface heat
gain, then you are getting smoke and mirrors!
Heat dissipates on a vertical surface much faster than on a
horizontal surface and the difference may be crucial. Something else to be wary of is when a warranty says "resists
fading", this could be interpreted as, "the paint will fade but it
doesn't really want to". |
